Medallia Inc. - Engineering Internship Summer 2012
We are looking for motivated students, willing to seek out challenges and explore solutions in the areas of natural language processing, machine learning, distributed database systems, and data visualization.
Who We Are:
Medallia, the global leader in SaaS customer experience and enterprise feedback management, helps their customers build meaningful programs to capture feedback, helps them act continually and continuously to improve their products, services, and their customers experiences, which in turn lead to customer loyalty and market dominance. Our real-time web-based reporting application allows our customers to analyze terabytes of feedback data, from a corporate perspective down to individual property managers view.
Why Spend Your Summer at Medallia:
Many companies will cleave off a small project for you to dig in to – something tangential to their core product. At Medallia, we believe our interns are capable of solving and exploring challenging problems that are core to our platform. Our interns own the project, from researching possible solutions, designing the architecture, integrating with the changing, existing platform, writing automated tests, and deploying code. Our interns last summer wrote a real-time anti-cheating engine to detect fraudulent survey takers. They selected a wide feature set, created testing sets, and then trained a support vector machine to classify surveys. Their project was designed, executed, and able to detect cheaters all within 10 weeks, and will soon be a core part of the services we offer our customers.
With a flat hierarchy, you are as much a part of the team as other engineers. Additionally, we pair each intern with a Senior Engineer to ensure you establish new skills and experiences that will serve you in a full-time job – at Medallia or elsewhere. If that’s not enough, we stock our kitchen with all the free granola bars you can eat (and other less nutritious snacks). Bottom-line: this summer, we’ll give you a lot to chew on.
About You:
· Challenge seeker
· More fluent in code than speech
· Professional pride and responsibility for your code
· Graduating in a year or less
· Pursuing BS or MS in Computer Science
About the Program:
· Full-time ten-week paid summer internship based in our Palo Alto headquarters
· Program will run from June to August 2012
· Compensation is competitive, housing provided
· Continued part-time and full-time employment opportunities
· Opportunity to be a Campus Ambassador

Medallia Inc - New College Grad R&D Java Engineer

You will join our core engineering team, which is fairly small, and will be responsible for architecting, designing and developing Medallia’s SaaS platform, the world’s leading Enterprise Feedback Management application. Your mission is to integrate the best of Visualization, Data Mining, Text Mining, Data Analytics and HTML5/Javascript into a revolutionary, engaging, high performance platform. You will master the agile development process, techniques and technology, as well as write scalable, maintainable, efficient and elegant code. You will actively participate in cutting edge open source technology and research.
We’re looking for highly technical engineers who are extremely passionate about producing quality code and have a real interest in solving extremely difficult problems.
