Vagina Monologues
The Vagina Monologues is an award-winning play written by author and activist Eve Ensler. Ensler wrote The Vagina Monologues after conducting countless interviews with women about their experiences and feelings regarding sexuality. For the last seven years, Cal Poly Women's Programs has brought The Vagina Monologues to the Cal Poly campus community. The cast is comprised of both students and contributing community members.

If you are interested in becoming involved with The Vagina Monologues please contact Michelle Houston at mphousto@calpoly.edu.

Auditions for The Vagina Monologues will be held November 1st from 7-10 p.m. in UU 220, November 3rd from 7-10 p.m. in UU 220, and November 4th from 3-5 p.m. in UU 216.

The Vagina Monologues will be performed February 17th, 18th, and 19th at 7:30 p.m. in the PAC Pavillion. Tickets will go on sale in February at the Performing Arts Center Box Office.

If you enjoy variety, put your time-management and organization skills to use handling field visits, office work, and projects for large commercial occupancies and hazards. Consultant Engineers are charged with ensuring that FM Global Engineering Standards are followed and, as necessary, must communicate the appropriate recommendations and/or engineering solutions to ensure client understanding and agreement for risk improvement so strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills are a must.  You must also be willing to travel to Natural Catastrophe sites as needed.

Successful Consultant Engineer candidates have the following qualifications: 
·         Minimum of a BS degree in an engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial and Systems, Aerospace)
·         Cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0
·         Strong verbal and written communications skills
·         Good analytical, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
·         Efficient time management ability with minimal supervision
·         Solid technical aptitude including diverse knowledge of engineering principles
·         Valid driver’s license
·         Physical ability to climb ladders, lift >25 lbs., balance, and heights
·         Proficient in MS Office products

This position is for a home-based Resident Consultant Engineer in the Los Angeles area. You will be expected to work independently and should be willing to operate from a home office.

Asian Pacific Community Fund – Scholarship Opportunity

My name is Christine Ma and I'm the Scholarship Program Coordinator for the Asian Pacific Community Fund, a network of 29 community organizations focused on transforming the lives of Asian and Pacific Islanders throughout Los Angeles County. Through a partnership with Verizon, we are offering $20,000 in scholarships this year for students attending a 4-year accredited college.

The 3rd cycle of the scholarship program offers 5 - $1,000 awards for college students who will be entering their third year at a 4-year, accredited college/university in California, Oregon, or Washington, or are a resident of those states. TRANSFER STUDENTS coming from a 2-year institution and attending a 4-year institution in Fall 2011 are also eligible to apply for the scholarship.

The deadline for the 3rd cycle is October 31, 2011.
